Ancient Alcohol: Tour and Wine Pairing will uncover 9,000 years of wine culture from around the globe. Discover the role of wine in the human story –from agriculture and trade to social life and religion. Some of these traditions may be familiar, while some may surprise you –like how to tap a palm tree to create wine or adding resin, fruit, or even cheese to your wine!

Drinking together has been a tradition for thousands of years. Log on, pour yourself a glass, and let us be your designated driver as you virtually explore how our ancestors partied like it was 7000 BCE. Your tour guide, Janelle Sadarananda, will answer your history and wine related questions along the way and you’ll hear from archaeological scientists about ancient plant remains and grape DNA.

Drink along with us!
We are offering participants three wine pairing suggestions that relate to the content of the tour. While the brand can be guided by your preference, we suggest the following varieties: a Rosé, Gewürtztraminer (white), and Sangiovese (red).
